MY STORY

Hello lovely!

I’m Dawn and I’m so happy you are here.

My passion and approach for helping women like you who yearn to become mothers was born from my own gut-wrenching experience with infertility.

My Story….

Ever since I was 6 years old and fell in love with taking care of my baby sister, I prepared a special place in my heart for a baby of my own. A baby who would one day make me the mother I had always dreamed of becoming.

That dream continued to grow stronger and stronger through the years.

At 24 years old, I married my first husband and looked forward to my dream coming true. Deception and betrayal, in the form of his ongoing infidelity and his eventual admittance to never wanting any children, ended our marriage ten years later.

At 37 years old, I married again to my now husband, Tom, who was 15 years my senior. Given our advanced reproductive ages, we knew we had no time to waste and set out to become parents right from the start.

My dream was back on track ….again.

Six months later, we were diagnosed with both male and female infertility and were given only a 1-2% chance of conceiving naturally. My dream was slipping away from me, but I refused to let it.

I was determined to do whatever I could to not let infertility be my reality. I refused to accept the possibility that never conceiving a baby may be the truth for me. My fear of that truth kept me desperately searching for and trying different avenues to make pregnancy happen and prove the diagnosis wrong so that my dream could come true.

We ran the gamut attempting to find our solution which included multiple IUI’s, IVF, acupuncture, attending prayer groups that regularly prayed for us, quitting my job as an elementary school counselor to reduce stress, and committing fully to a holistic health and wellness program for over three years. All of these attempts failed to produce our desired result.

I have never experienced a more painful and tormenting time in my life than those six years. During that time, I ached so intensely to become a mother and continually felt the deep grief and constant disappointment of being childless. This ultimately led to desperation, anger, despair, and fear – none of which were conducive for the process of natural conception. In other words, I was getting in my own way.

Finally processing my grief allowed me to reach a point of acceptance that I was previously unwilling and incapable of reaching. That was a turning point for me. It’s also when everything shifted for me, and it’s because I was different. I showed up differently in my life. I took control of my situation, but not from a place of fear like before, but rather, from a place of faith, trust, love, and certainty that my highest good was unfolding.

This was a shift in my mind, heart, body, and spirit – and it made all the difference.

I got out of my own way and instead of blocking my baby from me, I drew her to me with the key changes I made in myself. At 43 years old, my dream finally came true when I adopted my daughter, Faith, who is 12 years old now. (You can learn more details about my transformational journey to motherhood in my book, Free to Conceive.)

And interestingly, the key ingredient that made my dream come true is the “stuff” most doctors don’t address: the holistic relationship between mind, heart, body, and spirit. In particular, the areas of mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing are just as critical, if not more, than physical factors when it comes to overcoming infertility.

The 5 point SuperStar approach that I created takes all of these areas of well-being into account, leaving no stone unturned for you. It’s an approach that creates the ideal conditions for motherhood to occur, and that’s equally true whether we are talking about natural conception or other paths to motherhood, such as adoption or IVF. The 5-Point Superstar treatment model works both ways and it can work for you, too.

If someone would have told me back then that there was a way out of the emotional hell I was experiencing and that the “way out” was also the answer to my dream of motherhood being more likely to come true, I would have jumped on it!

As your Fertility Angel, I am that “someone” for you. I have walked this path before you, and I am devoted to helping you become the mom you dream about becoming. Moreover, I can make sure you become truly exceptional at it. Whether we achieve a natural conception for you, or whether we pursue other options and solutions, I will be here with you and for you every step of the way.

I will show you a different way of being to minimize your pain and restore your inner peace so you can enjoy your life even during this challenging season of it.

You are not alone. When you are ready, please take my hand and we will do this together.

I have known Dawn for many years.  She is not only full of compassion but overflowing with passion as well.  Her ability to motivate people and bring solutions to problems comes very naturally.

Throughout my interactions with Dawn, I was consistently impressed by her tenacity, work ethic, and commitment to excellence.

She is a woman of faith who understands that all her gifts, talents, and abilities come from the Lord.  Her surrender to Him has allowed much of her life to fall into place.  His biggest gift to her has been her beautiful daughter, Faith.  A life changing gift after many years of pain, disappointment, and struggle.  She doesn’t take it for granted and takes great pride in her family, especially in her daughter.

On a personal level, Dawn is a very confident individual of strong character who lives her life with integrity.  Her family and friends are lucky to have such a strong anchor who brings stability, compassion, wisdom, fun, and solutions to most issues.  I am blessed to call Dawn my friend!

Over many years, I have known Dawn from the perspective as an employee, friend, and mother of one of my patients, her daughter. In each of these capacities, I have found Dawn to be a very sensitive, empathetic and passionate person who has keen insights about growing from life’s challenges.

From the moment I met her, there were four things that I admired about Dawn: her courage, her faith, her enormous heart, and how much passion she pours into the things that are most important to her.  Dawn approaches everything in her life with a sense of optimism and determination, continually looking for ways to make her life happier and more meaningful.  Our conversations are always uplifting, and I find myself returning again and again to pieces of wisdom that she has shared. Her view of the world and her observations about life inspire me and have helped me shift my beliefs about what is possible when it comes to happiness and making our deepest desires come true.  She is an absolute gift and I am proud to call her a friend!
